Conduct FITP Course

Overview

In order to be a complete Trainer Level 4, the Trainer must demonstrate knowledge of the Instructor Level 1 Course syllabus by shadowing a course, then assisting another qualified Trainer with a course and then successfully conduct and lead a full Instructor Level 1 Course

Pre-requisites

Prior to a candidate beginning this series of checkboxes, they must first be a complete Level 4 Instructor and also at a minimum be a Level 2 Trainer prior to shadowing their first Level I Course. In order to assist their second Level I Course, they must have completed all of the Trainer Level 3 items and then in order to Lead their final course, they must have completed both of the shadow and assisting portions.

Objectives

This “master” check box covers all of the aspects of being able to run Level I Instructor Courses by yourself. The goal with getting a facility to being self-sufficient is to have at least 1 but ideally 2 fully qualified Trainer Level 4’s. Being able to conduct the Level I Instructor Course without having to hire an outside resource from another facility will be the biggest key in gaining self-sufficiency.

Preparation

Being an active instructor and being actively involved in upgrade training for the tunnel staff through the Level 1-3 checkboxes along with participating in the regular safety meeting events will be your best form of preparation to completing this skill. Being as involved as possible with the trainers that are at your facility and assisting with any upgrade training that is available to the rest of the staff will help keep you emerged in the training environment.

The IBA distinguishes between the sport of indoor skydiving (engaged in by patrons with IBA accounts seeking approval of flight skills though the IBA's Flight Progression System) and recreational flying (engaged in by entertainment customers who do not intend to pursue approval of skills). While indoor skydiving is safe for all ages, the inherent risk of the activity is necessarily greater for those engaging in the sport of indoor skydiving, particularly as they progress through more sophisticated maneuvers.
