Coach Spotter

Overview

A Coach Spotter rating will be awarded only to those members who have previously been trained and have earned an IBA Level 4 Instructor rating. Additionally, the member will need to have successfully completed each of the Training Objectives required, based upon their coach rating held and the supervising and spotting requirements.

Once a members has been awarded the Coach Spotter rating, the member will be required to maintain currency as outline within the Coach Spotter agreement.

The IBA distinguishes between the sport of indoor skydiving (engaged in by patrons with IBA accounts seeking approval of flight skills though the IBA's Flight Progression System) and recreational flying (engaged in by entertainment customers who do not intend to pursue approval of skills). While indoor skydiving is safe for all ages, the inherent risk of the activity is necessarily greater for those engaging in the sport of indoor skydiving, particularly as they progress through more sophisticated maneuvers.
